Installing Devices with the Engage Mobile App
This guide will walk you through the installation process for your Subeca devices through the Engage mobile app.
Before you Begin
For a successful install, Accounts must be configured in the Engage web platform. Review the steps to add accounts, or reach out to your Subeca representative if you are unable or unsure how to complete.
Install the App
The Subeca Engage app is available on the Google Play Store (for Android devices) and Apple Store (for iOS and iPhone devices).
Log into the Engage App
- Open the Subeca Engage app on your device.
- Enter your utility name. Utility name is an all-lowercase name, found in either your email invite to the platform, or your Engage URL (example: for the URL pure_h2o.subeca.online, the utility name is
pure_h2o
) - Enter your username and password, as created for the Engage web platform.
If you need to reset your password, select the Forgot password? option on the login screen.
Grant Permissions
As you navigate the app, you will be prompted for Camera, Bluetooth/Nearby Devices, and Location permissions. These permissions are necessary to successfully configure and install the Subeca device, and are only utilized while the app is open. If you need to adjust these permissions, refer to our troubleshooting article for step-by-step instructions.
Installing a Subeca Device
Once logged into the Engage app, the install wizard walks through the configuration and installation process for a Subeca device.
- Select Install New Device to begin the install wizard.
- Select the Account that matches the register you are replacing with a Subeca Pin, and click Yes, Continue to proceed.
- If there is an issue with your install location, instead select No, Log Issue to log the conditions back to the Engage platform.
- Confirm that the meter details are correct for the Account you selected. If needed, select Change Meter Information to update the installed meter details. Select Yes, Continue to proceed.
- Review the settings to be configured on the device. Select Confirm to proceed.
- Enter the Last Register Reading details for the installed meter: units, display decimals, and the last register reading. Select Continue to proceed.
- Scan or enter the BLE MAC address from the Subeca Pin. Click Proceed to Configuration or Submit to continue.
- To scan, select Scan QR Code, then locate and scan the QR code on the Subeca device.
- To enter manually, select Enter MAC Address, then locate and enter the 8 digits found on the Subeca device.
- Select the Network Type for the Subeca device. Select Continue to proceed.
- Select the Start Value for the new register. Select Continue to proceed.
- Start new register at 00000 will reset readings to begin at 0.
- Start new register at previous register reading will allow the readings to continue where the installed register’s readings ended.
- Review the settings selected in the wizard. If any information needs to be updated, use your device’s back arrow to navigate to the correct screen, moving through the steps above again. Select Confirm to proceed.
- The wizard will complete the configuration and setup. Select Complete installation to finish the installation process.
- Success!
